I was cruising along St Simon Island on the Georgia coast a while back and stumbled across a cool looking bbq joint, Southern Soul Barbeque.
The first thing you notice about the place is the three massive smokers in front of the store. They have two Myron Mixon smokers and one giant pit.
The inside of the joint was small and packed. The décor was perfect; wooden tables, blue concrete and fake flowers.
They had a lot of local memorabilia on the walls as well. Overall the place had a great atmosphere. The chicks running the counter were tattooed up pretty heavily and looked like they knew how to have a good time.
I ordered the brisket sandwich. The brisket was okay…about a 6 on a 1-10 scale. They had a bunch of different sauces on the table and we found one that worked.
It made me happy.
